There is this girl I like. Her name is Annie. And I like her both ways.

I have discussed one of my least favorite girl WODs, which is Elizabeth, but let me talk about my favorite: Annie. Annie is a CrossFit Workout that goes a little something like this:

50 Double Unders – 50 Sit Ups
40 Double Unders – 40 Sit Ups
30 Double Unders – 30 Sit Ups
20 Double Unders – 20 Sit Ups
10 Double Unders – 10 Sit Ups

 

And Annie Both Ways, is exactly how it sounds.. you do the regular Annie, and then work your way back up, not repeating the 10’s. It looks like this:

50 Double Unders – 50 Sit Ups
40 Double Unders – 40 Sit Ups
30 Double Unders – 30 Sit Ups
20 Double Unders – 20 Sit Ups
10 Double Unders – 10 Sit Ups
20 Double Unders – 20 Sit Ups
30 Double Unders – 30 Sit Ups
40 Double Unders – 40 Sit Ups
50 Double Unders – 50 Sit Ups

 

I enjoy this workout because Double Unders are easily my favorite move in CrossFit. It is one of those movements that some people get, and some just don’t. For me, I was lucky enough to be one of those people who just got it.

At the beginning of each CrossFit class we have a ‘circle of friends’ meeting to say your name, how long you’ve been crossfitting, and then there is a question of the day. Last nights question was, “What is your least favorite thing about CrossFit?” There was a wide array of answers, ranging from movements such as Thrusters and Overhead Squats, to the dieting (Paleo), to the cost, to certain people who do crossfit that forget to leave their ego at the door. All of these things are valid reasons to dislike CrossFit, but now I am wondering… What is your favorite thing about CrossFit? I have a lot I enjoy about CrossFit, and here are my 5 favorite things. In no particular order.

5. Double Unders

4. My expanding collection of Lululemon. Although my wallet hates that place, I like the way those shorts make my butt look. And hey- if you know me, you know I do not have much of a butt, so those shorts are worth every penny if it makes me look like I have something back there. And the cuter you feel, the better you work out. fact.

3. Eye candy. Its not a sin to get excited when Rich Froning…. oops, I mean Dan… takes his shirt off.

2. PRs. These are the things that get any Crossfitter excited. To better yourself is a great accomplishment. And to keep striving for something better is worth the battle.

1. The friends I have made through CrossFit. These people are irreplaceable, and I am thankful every day for this new family. BEARS
